Oh yes, not much humidity at all in the Panhandle. My 69 442 set out in a field for over 35 years and had minimal rust. None in the floor pans, a small spot in the trunk a

very small spot on the dash.
The worst was the tulip panel on the passenger side.

Here are a few photos after some initial cleaning. Still much to do. Chrome, trim pieces, trunk interior,

floor pans all original etc.

Just so everyone knows, I had said Oklahoma is the only state in the union that has records all the way back to the sixties. So I guessed that maybe this car had the Texas title or some information recorded when the first Oklahoma owner titled it in 1987. So I found DMV in Oklahoma City, it had moved from the capital area and asked for a title search. They got on the computer and immediately gave me the 1987 title I turned in and my registration. I said no no I want the old records. The guy said well that is on microfilm. I said well yeah i know. Well , you have to fill out a form and it may take a while, we just moved. I said YES I don’t care yes yes go ahead. One week later, package shows up. There is the Texas Title front and back from 1979!!!! The name of every owner the car ever had is on the front and back of this title except the first one.Unbelievable. The title is in the third owners name with the listing of the second owner as previous owner. Then on the back it was signed over to the fourth Texas owner. Then on the back also signed over again and passed through to the guy in Oklahoma as well on the back!!! An absolute miracle I kid you not. The License Tag on the title is the one on the back of the car now!! Never got changed. All four Texas owners lived in Follett Texas east of Perryton and all are still living except the third owner. Died a long time ago due to drugs and wrong crowd. I have talked to everyone accept the first one. I know everything that ever happed to this car and everything that was ever done. Every detail!! Will go through it all as I can after I talk to the first guy and get some photos. They all knew the W27 aluminum rear was rare even in the 1970’s and was in the car from day one. David
Please post some pics of the car after the bath you just gave it..love to see it in its post dirt glory..

Awesome. I am loving it. I know plenty of people don't care for green but I do. Great car. Great colors. I have a soft spot for cars getting to see the light of day. Let alone a 70 W-30. Good for you 👍

The "dip" on the sides of the hood has always been a sure sign of a factory OAI hood.

Nothing but soap and water and chrome polish and 000 steel wool. Needs clay bar and then buffing out but I will get the buffing done by someone.

I lived through the hay day of the 60’s and 70’s and you never saw a black or red car ever in this part of the country. Too hot you would burn up. We used to count red cars on trips because they were so rare. Blue Green yellow silver everywhere. When I see a red or black 1967 435 corvette I immediately assume fake until proven otherwise. British racing green ruled the day. The most produced color in 1967 corvettes was Goodwood Green, 6000 units

When you look at survivor cars anywhere you go on show fields, not total frame off restorations, the true colors produced tent to show up. 😎

I will take a survivor over an overly restored car all day. You can actually drive a survivor. Cars you can't drive makes no sense to me ever.

That is no jab at anyone by the way. I lived around muscle cars. They were muscle cars because they hauled ***. Having a car sitting doing nothing just isn't my gig. I love seeing pristine examples. There is a place for them. I get that there are people that like that kind of thing. To each their own. Poor cars never getting to touch their true reason for being built is sad.

Had to work on the starter and the gas tank vent tube plugged with SPONGE three decades ago. Go figure. No wonder when I filled it with 101 octane for the first time in 35 years it leaked. Who knew? Will get it back and post more engine and interior clean photos shortly maybe this week.

What an amazing find.!! Is the whole thing a repaint or just spotted in the one section where the frame is green?

The outer skin was painted by the fourth owner because the car sat for a while in the mid to late 1970’s and the Texas Sun started to burn the hood and trunk. The same reason the body is mint is the same reason the top paint was fading. Sunny and dry. Vinyl top is original along with all trim and chrome exterior. All the glass is original. Trunk and door jams and engine compartment all original paint. Interior all original including carpet. I even know the name of the painter in Lavern Oklahoma who painted the outer skin. He is long deceased.

Very Kool, thank you for sharing. The Kryta's / Inline Tube Have a 70 W-30 rag top 4 speed in the exterior color combo and it is stunning. Just FYI incase you had not seen it.

Thanks for the comments. I have always loved green especially darker green but I have always know that a lot of people do no like it. But they are judging from a difference era with different tastes of today compared to what was true in 1970. The black top and strips really set it off I think. For those who prefer original cars with history that trumps any color. Buy the way I did not quite understand the reference to the other green convertible.

The convertible while not a Holiday Coupe is the same exterior color with Black Stripes and Black top, restored to a very high standard. So while not the same car its another W-30 in the same exterior color combination. Will see if I can find a good picture.

Beautiful car. Accents with the black top are indeed quite similar. Just from what I can see the interior looks a lighter green. Could just be lighting.

I believe the Convertible W-30 originally had a black interior or at least was black at one time, but now it has the Ivory interior.

Such a cool car and great back story too. The only way to improve it would be to lower the rear about 3 inches. Olds A bodies look more dignified at stock ride height in my opinion.

So my 70 SX was that color. White top black bucket seat interior. I thought that was called Aspen green. Am I wrong?

PS: That ragtop is sick

LOL. Well the barn dust is probably obtainable. The only problem is standing over the car for 35 years and slowing sifting it onto the car 24/7 eh.

Paint color

Not trying to start anything ,extremely cool find I'm surprised no one caught what I see. I own a Aspren Green 70 w 30 car. This gentlemans car has been painted before ,if you look at the trunk the inner trunk lid., the quarter channels and trunk floor that lighter silverish green is what Aspren green is code 45. This color looks like 1972 Radiant green. Like I said super cool car from one olds guy to another .Unbelievable find!! I just kept looking and realized my car doesn't look like that color??? A few other areas like the inner door jams the inner front fenders but ,if you look at the rear quarter panel inner trunk channel you will see the two different colors, from the inner to the top of the quarter panel. Not that it is a big deal it just struck me!!!
