1966 Cutlass ground up resto - new member
hi all, fresh meat here-
10 year old resto in the works, finally getting to reassembly. 2 door post, sandblasted and refinished frame, 330cube rebuilt with performer&600cfm holley Turbo 350 2" drop front spindles, with disc brake conversion kit final assembly date....TBD..lol currently shopping around for a body shop, im a mechanic, not a body man. thanks!! ![]() ![]()

Welcome. Those are some cool pics. You should put a drive train in that thing and drive it! Even if it doesn't have fenders.

Good luck and try to find a shop that won't put you at the back of the line and take months or years! I ended up doing my 66 myself even though I am not a body man either. It was a good chance to learn! Go onto ebay and get an assembly manual if you don't have one. With patience and a couple sanders from harbor Freight (I prefer 3M sanding stuff though) you can do it. Get a DA and an in-line sander (the latter to get the waves out if you use bondo). Your 3M or other supplier can sell you Z-grip etc. bondo.

thats precisely the look i'm going for my friend =) drop&wheels wooo! sweet ride u have there! i'm modifying mine to look the 67, with flashers between the headlamps & 4 tailamps in the rear. but i'm loving the lowered height on yours!

Gearheads78, nice car! I have a 67 convertible and am trying to decide what type of wheels to put on it. I see you got some on yours what type, can you post a picture from the side. |

thanks...I cheated just to have it look decent for Goodguys last year. I chopped the factory springs to get just the right look. I had to do it twice because the first cut was not quite aggessive enough. Took about 5 hours the first time do to never being apart. The second time only took about an hour.
