1967 motor?

I'm looking at a 1967 442 that is supposed to be all original. Cylinder hear has the "C" code and casting number 394548. One place I looked indicated that was a 68-69 only casting number. Is it possible this would be a 1967 motor?

The heads sound correct but the block should have 390925E cast into the front of the engine block just aft of the timing cover and forward of the intake manifold. My guess is that at least the block has been replaced.

Well, stop looking at that place....

C heads with casting number 394548 were used on big block motors for the 1967-1969 model years and were the only heads used on 1967 400 and 425 motors, so those are the correct head castings for a 1967 442.

Now show us the BLOCK casting number. Better yet, post photos of the cowl tag and the rest of the car so we're not playing 20 questions if you want an assessment of the correctness of the car.

Also for 1967 there should be an alphanumeric engine unit number stamped on a machined pad at the front of the right cylinder head. From what I recall, the 442 engines started with V and ended with G.
Example: V123456G
