Window glass!

1968 Glass
I know the front windshields are the same in 1968-72 Cutlass/442 and Chevelles, I've swapped them before. Just be sure it's for a 2 door and not a 4 door or wagon, they're close but not the same. I believe they put the radio antenna in the glass starting in 1970. I've been told the rear glass is the same but am not sure, same on the side glass so someone who knows will have to chime in. If your talking new glass I found the front and back glass for a 1964 and the front but not the back for a 1967 at the local windshield shop. They told me they may be able to order the side glass but it would be expensive and suggested I try wrecking yards for used. John

Glass
That's right, I remember now. I've got extra used glass, the doors and backseat wouldn't be hard to ship but the front and back windshield are a different story! In the rust free desert country I would think there should be a lot of wrecking yards with our vintage of cars in them. When you get home if there's something you have trouble finding let me know and I'll see what shipping would be like. Also I know they made both tinted and clear glass in 1968, I've had cars with each kind in them. John

Ah sweet, thanks man! When I headed over here all I came with were my memories and about 7 pictures, haha, so reproducing what I need is taxing.
The area of Nevada and Arizona are getting harder to find cars in. New zoning laws brought the dreaded CRUSHER in to clear people's lots and there's been alot of loss. Plus there's not a big following of Oldsmobiles, least not publicly, haha. I've only seen one other car and it was a 69 Cutlass. Plus my car is the ONLY 68 442 I've ever seen in my life in person. I think people are hiding them. I'll make sure I check the glass as soon as I get back to see what needs fixed. I was going to have tint installed anyways, just the fogging is bugging me.

I bought a new front windshield from a local glass installer for mine. It won't help with the rest of the car but it will get hte front handled.
I had 72 Cutlass front put in about two years ago. Maybe they still offer it.

Does the fogging denote delamination? Or weakened glass? I thought I read a while back that yellowed glass means that the glass is losing its strength and isn't as safe as it was meant to be.

Glass
I'm used to seeing what looks like bubbles forming along the edge of the glass from delamination. When you get back you'll have to post some photos of what your glass looks like. I'll send you a pm with some other links to the photos I posted. Your paint is in better shape than mine, but the shade of green is the same! John
