heater hoses routing 455 no A/C

Trying to remember prior to last years 455 install....

The old 350 I think the outlet hose from heat core went into manifold at the rear of said manifold.

The 455 has a port just to the passenger side on top of manifold that is just above the water pump.

My question I guess is it ok to use outlet hose to that front top manifold port?

thanks for the time as usual...much apperciated

All Olds V8s have the same heater hose ports - the 5/8" outlet TO the heater core located at the rear passenger side of the intake and the 3/4" inlet FROM the heater core on the water pump. A/C cars have the heater control valve screwed into the intake manifold port, non-A/C cars use the nipple with a restrictor in it.
