My New 394 on Dyno
#7
Yep and here’s mine on the dyno!! All 340 HP according to Tony! Suppose to be a complete 1963 engine. Mine has fuel pump block off plate as well. All 13K + worth that’s not in my possession yet

Charlie Jones you are exactly correct. Tony with Ross Racing Engines has been building a complete 1963 394 for me since November 2013. $6500 down in 2013 and received the pic I posted from him last week saying that was my engine on the dyno.

415 hp, is a good number for a streetcar. It's none of my business "but" what was the time limit between delivery and pick up of your engine? Without of quoting $numbers, was the engine final $$ near your estimate? Being an Olds guy and living nearby to Ross, I've always spoke well of Ross and have recommended him to Oldsmobile owners. As of lately, I'm not recommending Ross. I'm a big fan of the 1961's, love the post, love the roof. Beautiful car.

Yes Sir!! You did. !! When I went to get it though Tony treated me like I was trash. He acted like I had only given him a week to build it.

Well it's in and has been started but it's too cold out to test. Exhaust was too strong in garage so I put it to sleep for winter. Exhaust is louder now didn't expect that. Must be because it now has 10:25 to 1 compression. Also I put in a new Power master Alternator generator.

Looks great though and I'm glad you are sharing this.

Yes the stock valve covers fit. Probably won't chassis dyno it with 2:78 gears in the rear whats the point. Has a roller cam and lifters so it's a custom grind cam but not extreme I wanted it to be streetable.
