Oldsmobile crate engines/builders

Anyone know where to get an oldsmobile crate engine or find a good builder? Real easy to take the chevy route, but I really do wanna keep my car powered by an olds. Pretty new to this classic car stuff, so building it myself is out of the question. Any help is appreciated.

Do you currently have an engine? If yes, what is it? If yes a couple CO members are trustworthy Olds engine experts/specialists that could build an engine for you.. Where are you located?

K u d o s for keeping it Olds...and welcome!

I do not. Not even sure if I wanna go 455 or 350. But I'm leaning towards the 455. That's what was in it before. Might even just put a cheap mild 350 chevy in it for now, just so I can drive it around, and do a proper 455 rebuild later on.

What area of the world are you in?
There are a few assembled "machine shop fresh" engines for sale everyday, but i wouldn't trust one. I don't believe anyone offers "crate" engines as that implies all new parts.

Do you have a transmission? The bolt pattern is different for Chevy. If you put a Chevy in it AND need a transmission try to find a universal case transmission that will work on either vs. a Chevy only case.

Dan made a bad move.
He should return to Florida immediately.
Don’t hold it against him.

Interested in building a mild 455? I wanna daily my car. Also, side note. Carb or EFI? I'm younger and never touched a carb in my life, but I've heard some bad things about EFI. Thanks for any info.

I will make you a great deal on it as its not doing me any good sitting here. Let me know..a couple guys in Palmetto have heads and things like that. Cutlassefi builds engines in Winter Haven, not far from you as well.

I highly recommend Mark-cutlassefi. You are very fortunate to have someone so well versed with Olds engines near you.

EFI means $$$$, if you have money you want to spend really badly get EFI. If you want a not so unaffordable mild 455 stick with a carb.

Yes, Dr Daniel-san needs to get back to Fla! And Mark is the man for doing your 455.

There's also this one near you
