Decided to tackle my top this winter

Funny thing, I never liked the top from the day I bought the car. Tan top and tan interior was terrible. 10 years back, I'd saved up to replace it, but the window fell out of my Camaro convertible, so I replaced that top instead.

So I started tearing it down today and found issues of course. Looks like the pump is leaking internally, I hadn't put the top up in 10 years I'd guess. I knew the one top bow had issues, but didn't realize it'd been fixed before. Not sure I understand why they put duct tape under the top on the front header bow?

So if anyone has a drivers side 68 top frame section..... hit me up. My plan was to tear it down, blast it and get it powder coated. Reinstall it all before I have the top done.

So, better to sand down, primer and paint? Or powder coat the frame?

These look to have been rattle caned over what ever was there.

I'm leaning toward sanding down the surfaces that can be seen, prime and paint with single stage?

I hand sanded mine and sprayed with Krylon rattle cans. The finish has held up nicely for, umm, lemme count, mmmm, 27 years now. Holy cow, has it been that long? Seems like it was just a few years ago.
