Good luck with your search. When you find one don't forget that you'll have to install aftermarket head bolts unless the previous owner has receipts showing they were already installed.

The 4.0l v8 engine in Oldsmobile Auroras was referred to as the Shortstar. It was a baby version of the 4.6l Cadillac Northstar. Those engines were aluminum blocks with steel head bolts that were fine threads. The proper way to fix the common blown head gasket is an engine OUT procedure. You remove the head bolts, cut coarse threads and install helicoil style inserts.

There is one down in the metro Detroit area. Diamond white, low mileage. But awful proud of it at $15,995. Let me know if that sparks any interest?

Definitely high priced! You can use the Hagerty website to determine a good price range. Off the top of my head I'd say that is at least $8000 high.
