Smooth ride, lower than stock

Not wanting Pro Touring or a low rider. I want a smooth ride but a couple inches lower than stock.
I'm thinking drop spindles and progressive spring rates?
I assume what I have now is stock worn springs. It sags a little in the back.
It has KYB shocks and what look like 1&3/8" front and rear sway bars.
Other than being baby blue the bars look like my old HO Racing bars.
(Chevelle I use to have)
Drives pretty nice on smooth pavement but when I hit RR tracks its like I just changed to a straight axle truck.

Any suggestions?Thanks!

I can only go by my own experience with my car but it had a ride like a modern sports sedan.

Shocks are going to be a big part of it... Those KYB gas adjusts are super stiff.

personally, if it were me... I'd get the hotchkis front & rear "sport" lowering springs- they are about 1" down from stock which is just about right to me.

For shocks, I'd get the hotchkis branded bilsteins, or edelbrock IAS.

of course this "I read it in a magazine" / non scientific approach. There are a million better ways to redo the ride height & quality... but you gotta research!

Hotchkis HPS-1000 shocks (made by Bilstein) along with Hotchkis coil springs. That is what I have. It is supposed to be around 1" drop though.

I still run those H-O Racing sway bars on my 66 front and rear, love them. Never had a car stay so flat in the corners.

Here are some nasty pics of the underside of the Cutlass. The bushings seem worn but not too bad. I will go through everything. A-bodies are easy. Maybe it flexes alot because its a vert. My last vert got about 15-20 miles put on it before teardown so I have nothing but the other A-bodies I've owned. 8 IIRC.
Getting old smooth ride ver handling is whats sounding good.

Oops

I do recall having Del alum lower control arm bushings in my 67 El Camino
Along with my HO front bar and that car (cruck) rode nice until you hit a pothole then it just about popped your fillings out.
It was not a back and forth jog it was straight on. Not so sure that clear?
