Fort Collins CO
Just got back from a week near Fort Collins CO
They have an interesting brewery there
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_Bel...rewing_Company
Employee owned, started in a basement. Belgiums are allowed to add strange things to the brew, thus the brewery name and whatnot.
Town full of tree hugging dirt worshippers- a right fine place to hang.
NO PARKING at all of course like any college town.
Real nice eateries and lots of places to get rid of that extra cash.
Economy seems to be booming, many hi-$ cars everywhere, lots of construction.
Turns out, if you work at a dairy site, the grungy nasty slush outside the sammish shop looks like a great thing to CLEAN your shoes with.
There is no point in stomping your shoes to clean them, at a dairy.
They "clean" the floor of the free stall barn with the occasional poo-nami [poop tsumani] from one end. Luckily I was up on a ladder when it started. The fan shutters, however, were down on the floor. I was a little nervous every time I got my phone out, but especially during the PooNami. Yowza, you do not WANT it back!
The site owner was a real cool guy, from SoCal, desert racer, race car builder, sold his latest to the Prince of Dubai, he says.
Automatic milker machines are cool engineering.
There is not much space between your milk and the poo covered milking parlor. However, the "faucets" get washed before and after, every time, and the machinery is washed and sterilized between shifts, which run all day every day.
The mountains are gorgeous.
They are also deadly- another avalanche death every day it seemed.
I almost forgot about the Cutlass "SMX" model I saw! Much like the GMO and similar variants I gather. Chrome mirrors.
If these are too large I can trim 'em down
just say so

FC looks like a pretty cool place, but those dairy barn pics bring back some unpleasant memories. One of my childhood friends' family ran a dairy operation and if I wanted Cal to hang out or go somewhere, I sometimes had to help him in the milking operation. If I spent the night at his house it was up at 0330 to milk cows. I never got in on washout though.
I have developed a taste for Belgian-style beer over the past year, and not necessarily Stella Artois. Allagash Brewery in Maine makes a fine Belgian...

I don't see why they don't train the cows to poo outdoors.
:-)
I was on the ladder above the grate when the loud noise started... I turned around to see what it was... it was the pu-nami rushing my way. Crashed into the plastic shutters placed on the floor/ grate and covered them in poo. I carefully got my phone out and got a video of the event from 6 ft up
