1967 Oldsmobile Restoration - Need Help

I am getting my 67 Oldsmobile ready for paint and am wondering what color the bottom of the car should be. I thought it should be black undercoating but want to verify.

Thanks in advance.

67 Olds undercarriage

Do you mean the color of undercarriage? The frame and components (rear end, control arms would be chassis black, the underside of the body would be the color of the car. I just did the undercarriage of a 65 Olds 98. Not sure of a 67 C body, but if like the 65, you cannot adequately get to the body with it on the frame as the frame is recessed within a body rail which is usually pretty nasty with rust.

Yes the undercarriage, I am doing a frame off restoration and am being asked by the paint shop what color to do the undercarriage (see pictures attached).

Everyone I spoke to said it should be black but I wanted to verify. Are you sure 67 had the same color as car?

67 Oldsmobile

No, not certain 67 underside was black from factory. But my 65 Olds 98 was my grandfather's and was unmolested when I got it in 1991. During my frame off, no question the factory painted the underside the color of the vehicle. I did not paint my underside the color of the car. I Gatorlined it black, and it seems to be indestructible and looks really good with all chassis components painted glossy chassis black. Your resto project is impressive. What did you do for body mount bushings?

Thanks! I ordered the body mount bushings from Fusick, wasn't thrilled when they came with a "made in Taiwan" sticker on them but they look like they will do the job.

The bottom of the body on a 67 cutlass is black and a very low gloss at that. There will be over spray from painting of the upper surfaces on the bottom.
