1970 Exhaust Pipe Bolts

I'm doing some exhaust work on my 1970 455 Vista Cruiser. The exhaust pipe is connected to the manifold with what look like common bolts. Is this correct or should there be studs and nuts like every other old GM car I've owned? If it's wrong I figured I'd straighten it out now. Thank you!
