1979 cutlass questions!

I have 79 salon coupe brougham, ex 260 diesel. It has now, stock speedometer and other gauges (circle). On ebay, i have seen 1978? cutlass with oblong speedometer etc, that long gauge with needle pointer. I hope you will understand what i am meaning. So, this does fit 79 cutlass? Where other same a-body cars have that gaugepanel? Other question: will b&m console shifter fit on inside of cutlass orig. console shift place?
