'68 Fender-door Stripe Dimensions
Hello,
Before everybody yells at me, I did a search but only found posts about other stripes. I am looking for dimensions and location of the stripe seen on '68 Hurst Olds (and possibly others) that runs along the top of the vertical part of the fender, the top of the door, and ends at the rear window. Dimensions don't need to be 100% exact (this is not a restoration of an HO) but the closer the better.
Thanks.

I got this info from Karl Sarpolis [karlskorner@msn.com]
Hurst/Olds Club of America lists him as the 68 H/O advisor so I think his stuff can be trusted.
He also sent me some pics of an un-repatinted '68 with this comment
"These photos I am told are of an original paint car. Again one must remember the black trim paint was done at Demmer Engineering and original photos of cars back then show the black was not applied exactly the same on each car. They probably varied as much as 3/8th of an inch on the sides at the peak and rockers.
The white stripe was about 1/8 of an inch. Remember they were all hand painted by a man names Paul Hatton, so they probably were not an exact 1/8th, but close."
Good luck with your project, and post pics, we all love pics.

he has detailed photographs as i understand it, but had a falling out with owner of car he took them of... they are what i really need, although i already had what you sent his copy and additions are better thanks!!! any way you can petition him for photos? i've tryed 2-3x and he hasn't responded. i mentioned the owners name(who i bought a bunch of 68 h/o original stuff through from through ebay...) know of no other reason why i can't even get him to respond?
