69 cutlass sport coupe (post car)

Hi, I just picked up a 69 cutlass sport coupe with the post. Just wondering how rare these are? And how desireable they are... how much are they worth? The one I bought is original paint and is mostly complete, has non correct 455 with th 400 trans runs and drives, rust on rear quarters. Any info is apreciated, thanks!

483 6-cylinder and 10,682 V8 Cutlass post coupes versus 66,495 Cutlass holiday coupes. Post coupes definitely have a following nowadays - more than they used to. They are usually less desirable to most car guys, but some guys seek these out. I'm a big fan of these cars - I've had two '68 posts since 2002.

Hey ragtop, was that the gold one in Red Deer? I was going to look at that one. I emailed him and never got an answer. I know of another Cutlass post (10682 produced) and 442 post (2475 made) up here in Edmonton - both in bad shape.

Yes that was the one in Red Deer, on kijiji. Do you have any details on the 442 post car? buckets? automatic? console? I use to own a 69 442 post car with a 4 speed!

Post cars are rare because they were the bottom-of-the-line low price loss leaders. Hardtops were much more popular and thus many more were made. Racers preferred post cars because they were slightly lighter than hardtops. People today are trying to spin the lower-value post cars as something ultra rare and desirable. If you like that body style, great. Just don't buy into the hype.

They're worth whatever someone's willing to pay for them, just wondering if they are pulling more money than the holliday coupes. I'm not all that worried about it though, I didn't pay that much for the car anyways.
