ST 72 = 1972 model year
34257 = Oldsmobile (3) Cutlass Supreme (42) Hardtop Coupe (57)
LAN = Lansing assembly plant
457347 BDY = Fisher Body sequence number
TR 977 = White vinyl bench seat interior with arm rest
36 36 PNT = Radiant Green (36) lower and upper body color (a Supreme HT without a vinyl top!)
4D = built fourth week (D) of April (4) 1972
A53 = this is most likely actually A65, which is the RPO code for the custom sport bench seat with the arm rest.

Cool, thank you. It's actually got power bucket seats ww/center console. It's highly optioned with rear defroster, 8 track, power windows, power locks, seat belt buzzer when unplugged. Again, Thank you very much

A52 is Bench Seat, and your 977 trim code is white bench seat, so the buckets and console were probably swapped by a previous owner.

And likely a lot of that other optional equipment.

Hang on, I posted too soon. In 1972, Olds used the same trim codes for bench and bucket seat interiors. This is unlike prior years. The actual seat style was stamped on the cowl tag.

That's probably an A51, which designates the bucket seats that were standard equipment on the Supreme Hardtop Coupe. Note that Supremes were not available with the RPO A52 Bench Seat, only with the RPO A65 Custom Sport Bench Seat with the arm rest. The Trim Code would have been 977 either way. Sorry for the misinformation.

Wouldn't a factory console car have had D55 on the data plate, since Fisher had to install the mounting brackets?

Not necessarily. I've seen a lot of cars that did not have it

Hmmm..

Found this connected to passenger bucket seat, so it is a bucket seat car.
