When I was a kid I did some dealer trades for my dad's Olds dealership. One I distinctly remember going after was a '76 Supreme because it was such an odd car. A little dealership in a one-horse town about 50 miles away had it. It was black, red landau top, red vinyl buckets, no console (column shift), dog dish wheel covers, wsw tires and a 455. I can't imagine a very small dealership ordering a car like that for inventory, so it may have been a sold order that the customer backed out of.

Cool, I love the fact that these are not overly massed produced. There's an image on-line of a orange one its absolutely gorgeous. I think mine is headed in a great direction as well. Trying to keep all the original components in tact, but I couldn't live with the wit top on sky blue!

my 76 sits in the garage covered . i really wanted to fine tune my recently rebuilt quadra jet ,but that requires test drives and with the roads covered in salt and ice it'll have to wait til spring.i generally fire up all my cars a few times over the winter and let em idle awhile just so they know im not neglecting them

Got a list..from a couple years ago.. Somehow life keeps getting in the way.. Send original radio out for repair/rebuild; have TH400 checked(leaks, though it seems to perform fine), A/C new partsinventory for replacement, have new pieces made as needed..
Somehow keeping the fridge stocked keeps taking priority..

Just bought a 77 Cutlass Supreme, looking for 1) original paint for wheels, 2) need to replace vinyl top- need upholstery parts , 3) need seat cover for front split bench (white), 4) how to maintain speedometer (starting to whine). 5) aftermarket radio to install that does not destroy dash. 508 769 1359

Wow! There's a lot of 73-77 fans on here. I'm glad because it seems like these are the underappreciated model years. I rarely see the Colonnade era cars around anymore.
I've got a '76 Cutlass S that I recently picked up. It has been sitting for several years, but I'm getting it roadworthy again. It won't be a restoration due to some rust issues, but it will be a fun car to mess around with.

Beautiful car redoldsman! Those Hurst cars are slick. I like the vinyl roof covering the side windows. That one looks like it uses the more formal Supreme/Salon rear window.
I've seen some Hurst cars that used the S/442 rear window which I'm partial to. Gorgeous car nonetheless.

Yeah, I always find it interesting to see what people ordered back in the day. I wish I could find out what was standard equipment on these cars, and then what was ordered extra. My '76 S has swivel buckets, console, cruise control, a/c, SSIII rally wheels, and the 350 V8.
I would assume the S would have come standard with the inline 6, a bench seat, and a column shift auto. or 5 spd. and standard steel wheels and wheel covers.

In 75 they did use the Cutlass Supreme for the Hurst Olds. There are no side windows under the vinyl roof. These cars have really grown on me.

glad I found you guys! I was makitmama on the 73-77 forum site. We are now actively working on the 77 442. I am casting and duplicating the interior window trim, my husband is de-rusting, and next is to repair the dash. The 350 runs well, all it needs is cosmetic. Lots and lots of cosmetic.
and just so ya'll remember who I was...

I remember too. It would be interesting to see pictures of your work casting and duplicating the interior rear window trim pieces.

Thumbs up Register your car!

On the mostly inoperative 73-77olds.com site there was a link to this 73-77 Cutlass Registry put together and maintained by a member from Hungary, Zola, with a restomod LS1 swapped 1975 Cutlass Salon. It is still maintained and working and has over 500 73-77 Cutlass, Hurst Olds, 442s, Salons, sedans, Supremes, S's from all over the world. Most of the entries have pictures. Check it out and if you have a 73-77 Cutlass, please register your car. Thank you.

My old 442 seems to be having a slow death as i last heard about it. The guy who wanted to buy it without drivetrain, bought a 455 for it, which turned out to be total junk, and he lost his interest on it, and bought a Pontiac Trans Am of same era. Ever since that car has been sitting outside and been listed every now and then for sale. With the thin/ burned through paint, wet autumn and now snowy winter, i wonder how it looks at spring.. Sad fate.

‘77 Vista Cruiser/CS

I snagged that ‘77 VC with sidepipes from South Carolina about a year ago. We found some old original dealer documentation with all of the options. It was cosmetically a train wreck. Slowly getting her back in shape, everything works except for the AC and auto ride air suspension.

As delivered

Texas Rattletraps Lemons Rally

check the gas and fill the oil!

My dad is an Olds man through and through. Took him for his first ride in an Oldsmobile in probably 25 years after Christmas. He had a blast

My first car was a 1973 Cutlass. Looking for a 4th Gen 73 to 77

I am looking to relive my youth. I loved my first new car, a 1973 Cutlass. I still have a picture.

My first car.
I did all my own work on it and had it for 10 years. Gave it to my parents and it slowly rusted away. Am I crazy to buy one? There are a lot out there for sale. I found a low mileage "76. What do you think it's worth? I am new at this. I am pretty knowledgeable about cars. It's nice to find a like minded group.

Srfdds, Hard to know what the 76 is worth without a description and options at least. Pictures and a detailed description of options and mileage and the model would certainly help. Salon , Supreme, 442, Cutlass S? Welcome and hope to hear more of and see this car you hope to own.

It's a 1976 Cutlass Supreme with 8800 miles, showroom condition. 350, auto, console, 8 track OEM, cruise control, clock, rally wheels. Always garaged. Suppossedly, no fluid leaks and everything works. Getting a full list of options. Thank you.

I think it should be in the $20,000 to $25,000 range.

Very nice, besides the options you mentioned, I see tilt and air conditioning, plus the original 8 track tape that came with the car new. Full vinyl top and sport mirrors. Body side molding and wheel well trim which I'm not sure if it is included with the Supreme. Looks like deluxe color keyed seat belts instead of the standard black too, included with Supreme? Again not sure on that. I think redoldsman is pretty good on the price, probably closer to the $25K just because of the super low miles. These car are pretty much Rodney Daingerfield, they get no respect but they are great cars. My 76 442 rides and drives so much better than my 67 Cutlass. Hope you get it. I can't wait to see more of it.

Return fuel line routing?

I have a 73 cutlass. Chassis service manual shows the return fuel line runs from tank, along driver side frame rail, short hose connection, and then a hard line that runs across cross member below engine to fuel pump.I purchaced stainless steel lines years ago from classic tube that is a one piece line. Called them but havent heard back. Called Inline Tube which is also a one piece line, and they said their line runs along the passenger side frame rail. Any ideas?

FWIW, I have a ‘77 wagon and all fuel runs on passenger side. The tank and location are completely different but I would bet they use 4 door paths which should match a 2 door.

Zodiac blue. That car is beautiful. I haven't run 295 50 15 on back but I've run 245 60 15 on all 4 corners so I could rotate them. Dusty, in what part of the country are located?

waking this thread up..new Rallys on my 74 Salon

Had to get new tires, so I thought I would put rallys and sport mirrors on her..
Didn't realize the sport mirrors are so much smaller than the regular chrome mirrors..
Before and after..
