Help with advise

My Mom died and left me her 1974 Cutless. Will the VIN number identify which model it is. I think it is the Cheapest one you could by at that time. It is one owner with 58,000 miles and runs like new. She was 96 and has dented the fender (minor) in several places. Should the whole car be repainted or just repaired and matched. New at this dont want to ruin a possible classic car

Yes, the VIN would identify the specific model of the car however if you suspect it would be the cheapest available at the time then you probably don't have a 442, or a convertible (that would be obvious of course) or one that would be highly valuable to a collector. 58,000 miles is low for a car that age and if she maintained it then you probably have a pretty nice car on your hands. To your question about body repairs, without being able to look at the extent of the damage it would be hard to say. If you could post some pictures maybe a few here would be more able to help you out. Ultimately it would be your decision and lots of things come into play there, are you going to keep the car for sentimental reasons, looking to just fix it and sell it, or maybe just keeping it in the family? You should be able to use the "Attach Files" option below the box for making your reply. Click on manage attachments and then browse your computer until you find the selected file, then click on the download command. After it is downloaded you will see a short file identifier listed in the attachments box, I think it will appear in blue but not sure about that part. After you have finished attaching your photos and making your post then just click on the "submit reply" command box.

When deciding to keep the car remember that you can get alot of enjoyment from a car even if it isn't a 442 or convertible. I would keep the car if it only has 58,000 mi. on it. Then again, if you have no use for it you should consider selling it as long as you get the right price for it. It would be a shame to sell the car and not get a decent amount of money for it. Hopefully you can post some pics and we can see what kind of beauty you have. Welcome to the site.
