I need to have my carburetor rebuilt. I know someone who will rebuild it for $100 to $150, is this to much? Should I try and rebuild it myself or should I just let someone do it for me?
I don't really know anything about cars, so how hard would it be for me to do it? I need some advice so please help.

Carbs can be tricky if you don't know what you are doing. There are books out there you can buy that teaches you and shows pictures but it still requires some special tools, equipment and experience.
The average cost of a new rebuilt 4bbl quadrajet carb from one of the parts stores is somewhere around $350.00.
$100-150.00 sounds like a good deal to me if they guarantee the work and are a reputable outfit.

First thing is to get your carb #s and see if it is correct/original for your car ...

You should also ask the person rebuilding the carb if they will replace worn out throttle plate bushings. This is a big issue on Quadra-jets.
