"O" axle berings and seals TO code

I am having trouble sourcing the bearings and seals for my "TO" code rear end in my 70 W-31. Does anyone know any part numbers that will be easily located?

I recommend calling Jim Mitschke at JD race and Restoration, JDrace.com

He will have what you need or know where to get it. I think he might be on this board too, maybe member MONZAZ

The '70 O-Type uses the same axle bearings and seals as the later corporate 8.5" 10 bolt (the earlier O-Type uses different bearings and seals).
The bearings and seals should be available from just about any auto parts store. Heck, even Amazon carries Timken bearings.

Below are the numbers I archived when I pulled my '70 O-Type apart:

Axle Bearing - Timken Set 9
Axle Seal - 712146

Carrier Bearing/Race - LM501314/LM501349
Pinion Bearing, front - M802048
Pinion Bearing, rear - M86649
Pinion Seal - 2043

Thanks for the help. I will be doing it on a Saturday and I want to make sure I have all of the correct parts. The reason for my question is that my car is a vary early January build and I have heard that there were some 68-69 carryovers where they used different parts.

They started building the 1970 model year cars in August of 1969, your car was built four + months into the production year, not an early build.

Very true. I would assume that I have the part for the model year 1970 but wanted to be covered.

You can confirm late vs early O-Type by the axle bearings and seals. The 67-69 uses a sealed bearing with an oil seal pressed into the end of the axle tube; the 70 uses an open bearing with the seal sandwiched between the axle bearing and the retaining flange.

Thanks, I saw that. I just want to be prepared so I will check before I go to my buddy's shop. It is pretty obvious but I still have it in storage because our weather is terrible!
