so i took my parts car with the built 455 to my rear end guy to put the posi unit in..turns out the 72 parts car has 3.23 gears..was gonna run a 3.08 but 3.23 is a better compromise gear..needless to say i picked it up today..left 2 black patches in several locations between his house and mine!!! gawd thats fun!!! so now ill be swapping that motor, rear end, into my car...and ill part out the rest..

Im a new guy to the site been reading for years but never posted much.

First off nice job with the rear quarters. Just curios is that the best way to put on the new skins or can you go to inside the door lip and around the window and trunk area? I am going to replace mine pretty soon and I am in the need of some pointers. wasnt sure if this is easier to fill later or if there are some other things im not thinking of. Just looking to get the least amount of warping from welding. Also what do you think about panal bounding. Thanks in advance

LOL...if of course you have the cash flow, and desire, I agree, but with the cheaper stampings, I see keeping the original 1/4, and filling in with the cheap stuff. but we also dont have alot of money for this all at once, and want to drive it this year.

Yes ufortanetly I have some other dents that need more than a little patch work. It would be nice if somone would come out with complete quarter panels and not just the skins.

the heads were a craigslist score over a year ago..400 dollars..they included the roller rockers, head bolts and pushrods.guy had them on a 350 and broke a piston..and i think he needed to buy more meth...so my machinist took them apart and said they were basically new and just needed 2 valves...

Great job! I just found this thread and went back and looked at everything. I can't wait to see this thing finished. It looks like my first car, same paint and interior except mine had an off white vinyl top. Keep up the good work!

Looks good so far, check that battery cable routing, looks like it is in a position to burn and short out against the header pipe.

Keep the pictures comming

Isnt it great to be a rebel and take a victory burn through the neighborhood while it's not even close to street legal?I ran mine around with no exhaust(Open headers) no glass, bumpers, lights, seats., Can't use seat belts without seats. I did actually have my collector plate in the trunk so it is semi currently registered. lol
