307 V8 fuel filter

I picked up a fuel filter for the 1984 Delta 88 307 V8. Is there s special tool that would loosen the filter housing without deforming the fuel line? It is tight as heck. I don't think it is a reverse thread. I would hate to crimp it.

When I replaced my fuel filter, I took the fuel line fitting first, the fuel filter housing second and then replaced the filter. In assembly, reinstall fuel filter housing first and then reinstall fuel line fitting. Just be careful not to strip the fitting thread when coupling with the housing. Its kind of tight in that area. I didn't use any special tool, a regular open end wrench and an adjustable wrench for the fuel filter housing since a didn't have a regular open end wrench that fits it.

I had a friend help me get it. He said I didn't put enough butt behind it. I thought I did but didn't want to break it. Oh well. It works now.

Yeah I broke the fuel line too, but it had to be replaced anyway.

It's a 1" wrench and I forget the other side I think it's 5/16
