394 vapor locked? How to prevent from happening?
Drove about 15 miles at 70 mph, then down to 25 mph for 5 miles, got to destination turned it off. When we got back to car about half hour later, it fired right up made it about a block and died, carb was dry, took fuel line off carb nothing came out when cranking, i then tried sucking on line while cranking and go nothing but a mouth full of fumes.
This has a rebuilt pump from then and now on it, with the return line. Called for a tow and they were 3 hours out. So after about 45 minutes of sitting i tried it again, after a minute of cranking it fired right up and ran perfect all the way home.
What can i do to prevent this. Could i add a electric pump back at the tank, and switch it on when the mechanical pump quits?

Have you tries insulating the fuel line before and after the fuel pump? The new gas will cause some cars fits and insulating will help, Looks like hell if your car is a show car but back in the day it was a common fix for vapor lock....Tedd
