64 dynamic 88 headlight switch

Good day,
Slowly getting this ready to get on the road. Doing some checking on wiring and I have tail lights but no head lights. Everything points to the headlight switch, power going in, nothing coming out on the HL circuit. I see ads for headlight switches for the super 88 and jetstar 88 and they look like my switch and are not very expensive.. But dynamic 88 HL switches are high $. Is there a difference? I am guessing a PO installed the wrong switch.
Mufflers next Tuesday, then alignment, then adjust the TV rod, seems to be hunting 1st and 2nd. Then see what happens.

Thank you for your reply.

Steve

All 1964-66 full size cars use the same headlight switch. Dynamic vs Super vs Jetstar vs Starfire vs Delta vs Ninety Eight is irrelevant. The only difference is whether or not the car has the Guidematic auto-dimming light system. The original Olds part numbers are 1995139 for the regular light switch and 1995134 for the switch with the Guidematic option.

OK, now I see the problem. RockAuto and other vendors incorrectly list the DS155 headlight switch is being used on the full size cars. Once again, when searching for Oldsmobile parts the vendor catalogs are nearly always wrong. DS155 and the equivalents are the switch for the A-body cars, which is why it is so inexpensive. That is not the correct switch for the 1964-66 full size cars (ironically in 1967, Olds DID use the same switch on the A-body and full size lines). I'm not sure anyone makes correct new headlight switches for the 64-66 full size. There are a couple of NOS parts on ebay right now, starting at about $35. Search for the part number I gave you above.

Thank you very much for the reply Joe. I really did not think there would be a difference, but I was not sure. And the ads for a switch for a super 88 said it would not fit my dynamic88.

Thank you again for the reply, much appreciated,

Steve

Just to be clear, I want to be sure you saw my second post about the incorrect vendor listings.

Yes I saw it, thank you. I will look for ads with the 1995139 part number.

Thanks again,
Steve
