Actually they are not chrome just moldings that are the same color as the vinyl top

The trim is going to end up a pick-a-part piece. To the best of my knowledge, there is no one making new trim.
If you are talking about the part between the window and the trunk lid... That's a pick-a-part piece too. I have a 1/2 decent one for my car, but it too needs some work.

Yeah, we think we know what you mean by "face the sky" I believe he means they "face up" or "out" to the world if you will with the 'textured side'. USED is likely your best bet or any salvage yard w/ early/Mid 80s GM cars...any Buick Lesabre likely has identical trim...maybe even a pontiac or two might...shouldn't cost much...keep us posted and good luck!

Yeah, exactly. (IF You have a decent example with MOST of the original color still on it you can try the bigger or specialty auto parts stores and then can maybe get you Vinyl Paint to match or a place that will mix it for you...) Good luck; challenging fine DETAIL work; but when done right it looks "good as new!"

I only have the metal pieces, for the back.
The sides are made of plastic, and usually blow away after crumbling into chunks.
A long time ago, I used metal pieces of eyebrow trim from a 70's cutlass, and bent them to fit for my corner pieces. Then I cut metal pieces from a 70s chevy for the sides.

Beautiful delta! You should be able to find those in a wrecking yard. If you can't, I'm sure you could come up with a solution using aftermarket parts and SEM (or something like it) Dye.
As you know now, a lot of stuff isn't reproduced for the later full-sized cars, so you may have to dye used pieces to match. Check this out:

You can get the spray cans at an Auto paint supply store. I would suggest you get the surface prep, also made by SEM. Good stuff.
If you can't come up with good used moldings, try some body side molding. It usually comes in rolls, is inexpensive, adhesive-backed, and should be easy to dye. You would need to get creative to get corners to meet, but it could be done. the stuff is easy to cut. Try and find the stuff that doesn't have faux chrome. It will be easier to dye. Try here, for starters:

http://www.jcwhitney.com/body-moldin...1797j1s17.jcwx
Just make sure to get something that is slightly larger than the area you are trying to cover. You will need to prep the surface before sticking anything on there. Try some 3m adhesive remover. I would avoid sanding. If you break through the paint in the vicinity of the vinyl top, it will rust.
Please post results!
