Building Trunk Panels
So Fusick does not carry 4-dr hardtop trunk panels and the shipping surcharge is a little steep anyway. So, I am building my own. My existing panels were pretty beat up, but good enough to make templates from. I found sheets of door panel material at my local uphostery shop for 20 bucks each, needed two sheets. I will probably finish off with the silver trunk carpet I ordered, that is on back order. I cut the back side and reinforced with tape for the folded areas.

Very nice work. I'll soon be following in your footsteps so to speak. I have a 1976 Monte Carlo that has the black cardboard trunk panels in near mint original condition and always wished my 76 442 had them. After seeing this thread, I will soon be making a set for my 442. Great job.

Update: building out the rest of the trunk. So, it still has the original brown tar-like insulation underneath the floor pieces. I am leaving all that and making covers that I am glueing to with 3M adhesive. This is the jack side of the trunk so far. I cut 2 pieces like the original wheelhouse covers and my wife is sewing the panels together for me.
