How to remove or test nuetral safety switch

How to remove or test nuetral safety switch

It is on the steering column. How can I find out how it affects back up lights with out removing it? It is hard to get to. 1984 Delta 88.

I bought a switch and took it to a garage to have it done. Works good and removes a pain from my backside.
