My 1960 Dynamic 88

Good god. A stick car with the standard steering wheel and no radio or reverse lights. Rare piece there, Uwe. Only about 2% of 1960 Oldsmobile production had the three-speed column shift.
Oldsmobile was kinda proud of that HydraMatic thing, you know

I was fortunate enough to own one of purported 2%'ers that came from the factory with a stick. Mine was a Super 88 Holiday SceniCoupe (2 Dr. Hardtop). It also had no power steering or power brakes. What I can tell you is, it would haul!
I can also say that the 394, which mine was, was green, not gold.

Dynamic 88
This will sound like a dumb question, but what are the stick shifts like vs. the hydramatic? Are they faster, do they have enough torque to get up hills in third gear? I am assuming you have sold the car, but did it have the 240 hp engine, or the 260 hp engine. Someday I will see a Dynamic 88 with a stick. My Grandmother had a 98 Sceni-Coupe, which was fun. However, it was an intrepid gas hog.

I have no direct experience with that year and model, but in my experience with three on the tree the shifts are quite slow. There's a lot more linkage between your hand and the transmission than with a floor mounted shifter. Other than that they work fine just like any other manual.
