Newb w/67 delta 88 ?'s
Hey to all out there in olds land!!!!! I am new to the forum. I have finally recieved my 67' Olds Delta 88 and have some questions....
1. What series of 88 is it?
2. Motor is stock 425 w/ Dual exhaust...what motor series is it.
3. Give me any opinions on light engine mods(i.e. carb, exhaust, ignition.)
right now it has a 2 barrel that was switched from a 4 bbl in 96. I still have the original manifold for it. Any recommendations and comments welcome!!!!!!! Here she is........

Hello Arnie
If you wanted to move it back toward original I should have a carb I got on a 1967 Olds 98 425. It would need rebuilt, but it should be the correct number for your car. If you weren't concerned about being original I would consider a Performer intake and a newer quadrajet that didn't have the divorced choke. You would need to get an electric choke rather than the stock setup to work with the Performer. John

Arnie, to answer your questions, the 88 was a model in itself not a series of another model. The 425 may have been the optional big block for the 88 model that year. I am not sure and will have to check.

I have just found some pics of the car befor its paint job in 95'. It had what looks like pinstripes down the side also. But the main thing is...how can I tell which 425 it is. Are there engine codes or what not? Thanks guys!

Very nice looking Delta. I have quite a bit of history and literature for the 67's (Delta's). I have a 67 convert myself. My dad (serious car collector) taught me to collect anything I can find that related to the model/year. I took his advice and now have quite a collection.
Shoot me an email and I will scan some info for ya.
BTW- your car color, if it matches original, is Saffron, same as mine.

1967 4 bbl swap
PM sent, but a question for the the rest of the board, does anybody know if the throttle rod from the firewall to the carb is the same on a 2 and 4bbl? I'm already expecting that Arnie will need a divorced choke and air cleaner to go with a factory 4bbl carb, and he has the intake but do you guys forsee anything else he would need to make the swap?
