Question for 1964 Jetstar 88 guys

Good Day everyone, I am doing a build on a 1964 Dynamic 88 convertible. I know, the title is about Jetstar 88s but hear me out. This build will not have the 394 and Slim Jim tranny. I will be custom installing a 1966 425 olds with a 400 tranny. The 394 radiator has both hoses for the radiator on the driver side. The 425 like the newer Olds engines are cross flow designs and have the thermostat return for the radiator on the driver side and the water pump line on the lower passenger side. Here is my Jetstar 88 question, since the 330 motor is of the newer design is the water pump connection on the driver or passenger side? Is the hose connection still a 2 inch? Does anyone have pics of the front of the engine that shows the hoses and radiator installation on the Jetstar 88? Looking to have a custom radiator built and trying to figure out what will work best. Thanks, Dean

1964 330s in both the Jetstar 88 and the Cutlass line used a one-year-only water pump with a driver side inlet. This means that the one-year-only timing tab is on the passenger side and the one-year-only harmonic balancer has the TDC scribe mark in a different place as a result. Here's a comparison of the 1964 and 1965-up water pumps. Also note that the 1964 J88 accessory brackets are one-year only and are not the same as those on a 1964 Cutlass.

Joe, thanks for the reply and the photos. Sorry it took so long for me to reply. Between getting sick, COVID, and work contractors, my schedule has been all messed up. I was pretty sure there was a one off water pump, what I did not realize was the change in the timing marks location but that makes sense. Don't see this as being a solution to me doing the 425 build up on this project. Probably going to look at a custom aluminum radiator install. Likely to use Griffon although not sure if the angled radiator cap will be a problem for them or if I need to do some modification to dimensions to make one work. Dean
