78 AC condenser on a 71 cutlass Oldsmobile

Hey all, I was wondering if anyone else has ever seen this? I bought a brand new AC condenser for my 1971 cutlass and it's the same size just the hoses are in different position, I'm very new to this so any advice is greatly appreciated!

If you bought a condenser for a 78 and the only thing different is the fittings are in a different location, then you will need custom hoses made at the least. Also consider the drier and where it mounts

I bought a 71 condenser actually, and just noticed the one in my 71 now looks to be one from a 78 cutlass

So, you have the correct condenser now. If the hoses don't fit now, you need factory hose setup for your year. 68-72 hoses should work

Old air products has a decent price on the hose setup. but don't buy the drier from them. they want easily twice what you can pick one up one up on ebay.

If you are referring to the drier, I would get an aluminum repro one. They are the same for 68-72. Same as chevelle. The only thing is that it is slightly smaller in diameter that the originals so the brackets wont grab it. Just add some type of foam or rubber material in between the brackets and the drier and youre good to go.
