Another New Member - My 1st Olds

After reading posts on this site for a while now I finally decided to join this weekend. I bought my first Oldsmobile last fall. After looking for a project car for several years I finally decided that a full restoration wasn't for me. I found a red 1969 Cutlass S convertible for sale in Northern Illinois that had an older restoration. The car has 135K miles on it but is still in pretty good shape. It has the original interior, 350 4bbl with auto trans. The car still has enough small problems to keep me busy for a while like older weather stripping, some missing trim around the wheel wells, some electrical problems, etc. I have a pretty good list of things to keep me busy already and haven't even drove it that much yet.

I look forward to be able to ask questions on this board and also contribute once and a while too. Right now I am waiting for the snow to melt here in Wisconsin so I can get the car out and work on it. I attached a picture of my car.

I forgot to add that the wife was ok with this purchase. I just won't tell her how much the list of "little things" comes to.

That red interior looks pretty good with the red exterior. Used to seeing white interior instead, nice change.

The red interior is one to the things that I liked also. At first I was thinking black exterior with red trim and red interior, but when I saw this car I changed my mind to red on red. Other than the metal parts of the dash being repainted and the carpet being replaced the interior is original and in good shape. It needs weather strip all around, wind lace behind the doors and a new convertible top boot but other than that I don't plan to do anything else in there. The original am/fm radio even works.

Mine loves the Cutlass; we're both lucky. I had to sell my Harley's, but that leaves more $$ for the Olds.

Nice car. I really like the red paint with red interior and red wheels. It makes it look really sharp.

Sweet ride ! Back in the day I had a '69 4-4-2 Sport coupe. Had a 4 speed with air conditioning, as I remember (the air). Didn't realize what I had!

I am a new member also. It felt good when everyone said Hi and welcomed me to the site!

So welcome !!
