Build sheet found!!😀😀😀
While I was "mentally preparing" to remove the driver seat from my '72 Supreme to get re upholstered, I kept wondering if by some slim chance I would find the build sheet tucked underneath. Part of me wanted to hope I would, but part of said "nah...it won't be there" based on the fact it's a Fremont car and the most common place to find their build sheet was in top of the gas tank.
Well, guess what, I have an anomaly, cuz there it was...tucked under the seat.😀. I carefully removed it and will make a copy of it which I will post later, but for now, here's a pic of it as I found it.

I still can't believe it!!..😀😀
I honestly thought it went the way of the do-do bird!
Oh, btw, what do the asterisks by the option codes mean?

This is a wonderful piece of provenance for your car. Where did you find it anyway? Most Fremont cars had them on top of the fuel tank. Other places include under the package tray. Based on the incredibly good condition of that sheet, I wonder if it was folded in half and placed under the dash somewhere? Maybe behind a trim panel? Curious as hell to know now...

Thanks Norm. And you're right, I will be researching the numbers. But for now, any options that stand out to anyone as being "uncommon" (other than the L75)?

Most of the time the * indicates the option is part of another already included RPO for your car. eg: L75 includes the N10 dual exhaust. The CS trim automatically includes a lot of the * items you see.

Well well well, now you have to go back to this thread you posted back when and also do some more work on the car - IF you want it to match the build sheet that is. Note your GVWR and GAWR's don't match the door sticker you created. Mebbe I'm just being too picky??

That's not a surprise Dave. My 72 is in the same boat - front and rear GAWR do not match the GVWR. I seriously wouldn't waste any sleep over it especially since you now have documentation from the factory about how your car was born and what it's GVWR is. 1972 was the first year those door stickers had that information. Here's another U code actual 442 (Cutlass S) from the same factory and you'll see the GAWR summation is similar to yours. Only difference is this build sheet is from an actual 442 (RPO W29 shown)

Ok..Allan, you talked me into it..lol. More on that later. But for now, going back to #60 of my intro post, we discussed the SD code on the rear axle and you said the build sheet would verfiy. Well, SD is on the build sheet, so finally, after 2-1/2 yrs, can we say it's a #'s matching car?

Yuppers 👍...I verified the VIN derivative on the engine and tranny soon after I got the car. Both match.

Dave,
What happened to the font and spacing? Although your numbers are now 100% accurate the font used is really off. Maybe I'm being too picky but here's a comparison with your first one which looks so much more original especially with that fading.

Congrats - nice find. A '72 Supreme built in Fremont has a good chance of another full bulid sheet under the rear window package tray too. I've found a couple up there as opposed to on the gas tank on my cars.

My wagon had the fuel tank cleaned/serviced some time in the 90’s. I dropped the tank to check inside of it and found that the build sheet was still there, though I can’t remember if it was between the tank and insulation or the insulation and the underbody.
