delays

I just got a call from the guy rebuilding my engine and there is going to be another delay of about a week. He is still waiting on a good set of lifters. He has received 2 shipments so far, from the OEM shop that he gets his Olds parts from, but they both had defects and had to be returned. He should get a new set tomorrow. fingers crossed.

On the plus side, he says that there is a nationwide shortage of parts for small block chevys. He has a dozen small blocks at his shop right now that he can't get parts to complete the projects, but Olds engine parts are more available.

The wait is killing me. I want to be cruising. The only thing that's keeping me from going bonkers is the fact it was 25 degrees yesterday here in Maryland. That's a little nippy to drop the top and drive.

Sadly, it's true. I waited over 6 months for some Olds engine parts, and my buddy, who is having an SBC built, just got a cam that he ordered over a year ago! And no one had ARP SBC head bolts in stock for many months.

Wow, who would have guessed with the Billion sbc parts available there ever would be a shortage. Especially with so many going the LS route instead. Yeah, I just received the last of my parts from Cutlassefi a couple of weeks back, ordered months ago. I tried to get SBO bearings up here through the machine shop, there were none anywhere in multiple brands. The machine shop itself was nearly a year wait! I am definitely going with a different shop next time, everything was painful with them.
