Considering that we
a. don't know where the work is being done / have any kind of warrantee
b. what the core came out of (a lot of vehicles used these identical saginaw steering box housings, different internal stops, ratios- hell even reveresed steering valving is possible)
c. don't know what parts were used to put it back together (there are some specific stuff you want in an "upgraded" steering box)

knowing that stuff, I wouldn't want to send that kind of money for something like that.

There are reputable shops that will warrantee their stuff and you can find out all the specifics of what is going into the boxes that will rebuild boxes for that same ~$200 price all day long.

I would go directly to a shop if it were me, or a reputable steering rebuilder that offers "upgrades"- so you know what you are getting.

I had mine done by Power Steering Services out of . It cost a heck of a lot more than $145 but it works perfect. I've come to believe with these old cars you get what you pay for.

Yes, Chip did mine too, excellent guy, excellent work. He did my pump and box, they came back painted and ready to bolt on.

Chip does do nice work, and is very knowledgable. He is currently doing the pump and box from my Delta. Upgrading the box to a quick ratio. He says I will appreciate the upgrade much more in a B body than the A body.
