Windshield

I need a new windshield for my 1969 Oldsmobile 442. Any suggestions where I should purchase one? I'll search the web; I'm sure I'm gonna find lots of them. Hoping someone has had a good experience so I don't get taken.....seems thats all that ever happens! Thanks

I've had a good experience with Safelite. They have windshields which go back to 1959. They'll come to your home to perform the R&R.

If you plan to install it yourself, look up Autocityclassic. They will likely have the best price. They will have side and back glass as well if yours is scratched. They sell glass in clear, factory green tint, or smoked gray tint.

Since i have a pea gravel drive and help that's in love with their leaf blower. I'm on Safelite's favorite customer list . They do good work and often it's covered by your insurance [ or at least mine thanks be to heaven]

Perfect! I used them for my modern vehicles and had no issues. I'll call them for a quote. Thanks

X2 for Auto City Classic. I usually pick mine up from them at the Carlisle swap meets.

So the old windshield was the original and I was hoping to preserve it. I removed it and it had wiper scratches but I figured I'd polish them out. Ironically it survived storage in my garage and I reinstalled it and it was fine. Years later it developed a crack starting at the bottom and going up about 4" on the passenger side. I knew I'd need to change it out and was dreading it because I've removed a few and they can be a bear. I removed it today and surprisingly it jumped out without an y damage. So I'm 20 years older now and don't think I can replace the windshield without help so I'm going to consider Safelite. After all my b biggest concert was them removing the old windshield!! Thanks for the suggestion.
