anybody else experienced this problem? I have seen somewhere can't remember some company that makes one that is less dense material that compresses more alleviating this problem. I installed a soft seal and the back of the hood is about a 3/8 inch to high.
It is my 68 that I am experiencing this dilemma.

It is the same design that all the repro places have as well as the better ones.
I got all my seals from Supercars and all were soft seal. Everything fit great except for this one item. I have come to the conclusion that this might be more pronounced with the 68's because of the crappy hood hinge design.

I found a cherry vista cruiser at a junk yard and it had a flat topped one like I took off. All the pins fit perfectly and no more fumes ...
i HATE THAT GENERIC CRAP like my windshield squirters that had to be custom fit. I grabbed those also...
