Rear Seat/Trunk divider panel question

My old rear seat divider panel in my 66' 442 did not have jute insulation backing (Just the panel). I ordered a new panel from Legendary with the jute backing to cut down on noise. Should the jute backing face the rear (trunk) or should it face the seat. I guess what I'm saying is: when looking at the back of the seat through the trunk, should I see the black hard panel or the Jute? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

On my 72 it was installed with the jute on the trunk side, so it should be the same for you.

X2 - trunk side. You should see the jute from the trunk compartment.
