Kinda New Member.... 61 Dynamic 88
I’m kind of a new member. I’ve been a member since July 2017 but this will be my first post.
The last thing I needed at this point was another project....... but was looking at Kijiji ads on a Saturday in early October (Thanksgiving weekend actually) and saw a ‘61 Dynamic 88 convertible for sale at a pretty attractive price. Car had been in storage for 10+ years and is surprisingly solid. The guy I bought it from delivered it to me the next morning and I had it running in the afternoon after replacing a corroded out frost plug. Fortunately it was at the front on the passenger head. Car seems to run nice.
I got the car on October 11th, flew south to St. Louis (I spend half my time there) and just flew back on December 3rd so am in 14 day quarantine and have been getting a little better acquainted with the car. I’ll start a thread on it in the big car forum.
EDIT: Here’s the link.

Not sure what I’m going to do with it, but I love the back end on this car. I can’t honestly say I had ever seen one before. Definitely “space age“ design. Actually the entire car talks to me from a design standpoint.
Suggestions?
Also if anyone would know where I could pick up the Oldsmobile grill bar that’s busted up, that would be appreciated.

Unusual color and the car wears it well.
Those years Oldsmobiles (even Ninety Eights) look great with the factory dogbowl caps and trim rings. Very stylish and you don't have to 1) fool with those 61-only clips or 2) find a set of color-matched Deluxe wheelcovers or the brass mask to paint them.
Just curious which center emblem is on those wires. They're 64 or 65 but I can't zoom close enough to tell. Nice 64 especially are always in demand.

Welome, that's a really cool car! I'm a permanent St. Louis resident. When we get past this Covid business and you're in town, PM me if you'd like to come by sometime and check out my 1967 442. Keep us apprised of your restoration, everyone loves to see these old beauties come back to life!

Where in St. Louis are you. We’re in Ballwin.
I actually bought this down there about a month ago. Needed something to play with while down south.

I will! Would love to see your ‘67. I drove a 69 442 4 speed in university and sold a ‘68 442 convertible about 10 years ago to a guy in Illinois.

65. Good score. Run them till you decide on your wheel treatment and then you should be able to sell them. They look great on any 65 Olds, esp a Starfire or a 442 with red stripe tires.
ElCaminos are a tough find around here, especially unmolested ones. DK what it is about the trucklet that people won't leave them alone. Then if someone like me gets it I have to undo and correct all the PO's cobbled up mess.
What's strange is people don't seem to do that to Rancheros. But they're no easier to find.
