Hi there I'm Manny a newbie I have incredible story to share with all the Oldsmobile owners I was fortunate enough to find a 64 Olds Starfire convertible it has been tucked away in a barn for 25 years the car is original one owner and complete I have a ton of questions that I'm sure will be answered I will be happy to post photos once I figure this whole internet thing out LOL I have the VIN number hoping to find out more information on a car regards Manny

Great story and a great car. I can tell you right now that the VIN will tell you pretty much nothing that you don't already know. In fact, I can tell you most of your car's VIN right now. It will be of the form 864_XXXXXX
8 = 8 cylinder engine
6 = Starfire series.
4 = 1964 model year
_ = a letter that indicates the plant where built (M = Lansing, A = Atlanta, K = Kansas City, Kansas, L = Linden, New Jersey, C = South Gate, California, T = Arlington, Texas)
XXXXXX = six digit production sequence number at that plant.
VINs back then were not very sophisticated. If you post a photo of the cowl tag, which is riveted to the firewall under the hood, it can be decoded to give more information about options and colors.

Manny 1967 it says the vehicle that was found in the barn Ontario Canada 1964 Starfire convertible one owner with 16300 original miles all the Chrome was taken off and saved and the car was being prepped for paint LOL 30 years ago
