some what new...
I joined in December, but have not introduced myself, I am Doug Browne, live in Atlanta Georgia, and currently have a 1984 98 Regency Brougham that I call Aikman after my Father, who bought it 3 years old for his retirement car. In 1997 he insisted I take it as he was aging and worried about wrecking it, so I found him a "beater" 77 Delta with the 231 V-6 which he absolutely loved and drove for years.
We became an "Olds Family" in the early 60s when Dad bought a 1960 98 Sedan, green with a white top. Many years and Oldsmobiles later, he told me he thought he '60 was probably the best car they built. Anyway, to go along with the 98, Dad got Mom a '60 88 flat top sedan, and then there was the 61 98 and the 61 88, then later a 67 Cutlass 2-door for Mom (that car LOVED gas), a 68 Delta, a 69 Delta, a 70 Delta (converted to a pick up truck), a '77 Delta, a 78 Delta, the 84 98 and an 84 an 88 (with the 231 V-6) and then the '85 full bodied V-8 307 Delta, which was Dad's last car.
There was a '62 and '64 Cadillac in the mix (I was trying to make him a Cadillac man, but failed) and some Gremlins when the gas crisis hit in the 70s.
That's my story, I hope I haven't bored you. I love my 98, I love this site, have received excellent advice and information, people seem to be great here.
Many thanks - Doug

addendum
I forgot to mention the '66 98 Coupe (a favorite) and Town Sedan, 67 Delmont and 67 98 Sedan, and the 69 Cutlass (green bottom, white top, with the 350/jetaway) and the attached...what was left of a '70 cutlass...I was in the right rear seat, and ended up in the hospital for a few days...hate to think what would have happened if we were in a Honda..!

everyone survived...the driver was protected by the steering column, and had only minor cuts. The front passenger had the worst injuries, but he too is fine. Even though these were relatively light cars at the time, they were substantial enough.
