Pretty neat blog. You're really putting a lot of work into it. Where did you find the vin #'s on the frame? I'm really glad you decided to keep the Oldsmobile engine !!! Do you remember the brand of header's you used? Keep the updates coming.

Thanks, yea it is a bit of work but will be a new 2013 - 1951 Olds 98. Had to keep an Oldsmobile engine in it, did update it to a 75-350 though. The headers I will have to look but think they were some long tube for a 75 Cutless?? They fit fine, just had to trim off about 3" on the chamber so the exhaust would run though the frame.
The vin was stamped on the frame right under the drivers side rail and up on the drivers rear rail that sweeps up for the trunk section. Found it strange that it was stamped in 2 locations and matched the body vin. I update the blog when I can, get too busy to snap photos sometime.

Thanks for posting this, and the wonderful blog. I'm beginning my journey on a '53 98 that has several of the same issues you're addressing. My floors are pretty much gone as well.
I'm looking forward to watching your progress. Sometimes inspiration is necessary when looking at the mountain of work ahead.
