1963 dynamic 88. vs 98
#3
What NAVVET said, the 98 has alot more standard toys and alot of the upgrades like carpet, insulation under pad and trunk carpet. The 98 was the car Doctors would purchase rather than a caddy. I have several 63-98s here in my stable and the difference between the two models would be the grill, tail lights, rear bumper and the the quarter panels are longer on the 98. The 98 had a different trans model and the engine was a standard 10:1 compression ratio with a 4bbl. not sure what else you are looking for here but this is a start.

A good friend of my fathers was a car sales man for GM and his take on it was the 98 or Buick 225 were a better choice for the DR rather than a Caddy, the 98 had the same toys and had all the prestige without all the attitude that would accompany owning a Cadillac.
He was there top salesman for many years and my wife's uncle sold for ford and then GM said the same thing and he was there top corvette salesman in Canada for many years.

My Super 88 of the same year is the in-between car of the two, and personally the one id prefer. The Dynamic often came with 394 (10:1) with 2bbl, 3 speed slim jim trans (which gets a lot of negative remarks in the olds community ive found), no a/c, optional power steer, and no limited slip posi differential.
The 98 was longer, tuned 394 with 4bbl (10.25:1), Edit: all came with 3 speed (all 50s models had 4 speed version), a/c, limited slip rear with higher gear ratio, I believe slightly larger brake drums, and all power features (brakes/ steering/ seats/ windows/ headlight dimmer).
My Super 88 on the other hand came with the 10:1 394/4bbl, 3 speed slim jim, a/c, limited slip posi rear, and same brakes as 98, however mine lacks power steering but hey less mechanicals to worry about (along with all the other power interior features as 98, less wiring/window motors to worry about). however Dynamic 88 could be optioned out to pretty much be exactly the same as a super 88 just different name badge. Both also came in two door hard top, holiday four door with no center pillar, or celebrity sedan (four or two door) with center pillar. pretty much all Ive found out in the year Ive had mine (original sales brochures and literature was nice)

ALL 63 and 64 big Oldsmobiles had the Roto Hydramatic with no second choice except stick shift. Pontiac Bonnevilles and Cadillacs used the 4 speed Hydramatic.

What I was told is a 98 had the same prestige as a Caddy and people didn't think you were overcharging or rich and showing off. In 1977 my dad went out and purchased a Lincoln town car right off the lot and would NOT drive it to work, once when he did as he had to attend a funeral that morning one of our customers dropped in and said if that's your car out there then you are charging me to much for my parts, last time we drove the lincoln to work. He went out and bought a top of the line Chrysler and we used the Lincoln as a Sunday goin to meeten car.
Some people don't think past their nose, you have a million dollars in machinery and run a multi million dollar business but can't have a nice car.
