68 98 door seal rubber
Hi Everyone - hope all are well!
I am finally getting around to working on '68 Ninety Eight Town Sedan. She's a sweet SoCal find - totally rust free
and only 78K miles. I am looking for any info about the front and rear door seals - mine are pretty crunchy and need to be replaced,
The seals are specific to the "posted" hardtops (both LS and Town Sedans) I believe. Steele Rubber doesn't list them and I was hoping someone might have some or some
equivalent I could try.
Thanks,
beepac

I might have to work with what I have..the donor cars seals are usable. Its a Michigan car so most of the rubber
is pretty good. Same story with the roof rails. The front ones are the same as the "no post" 4 door 98's with minor modification.
The rear ones are very different. I'll have to innovate somehow!
Best!

Brian, I’m going through this right now too on my LS. The roof rail w/s for a 4 door holiday sedan will work but needs to be cut in half... it even has the “bump” molded into it at the rear edge of the rear door opening. Door seals are another story. I’ve ordered the ones available for other C-bodies and they are different, but may suffice. Steele also has the correct vent window gaskets for the LS/Town Sedan...took some digging but they have them. I’ll PM you my new number, call to catch up and I will dig up the PNs for these. Take Care...Dave

You might try the Oldsmobile page on https://www.vintagepartsource.com there is also a page on that site for Rubber Seal companies, a lot of suppliers listed you might find those seals there.
