'69 Ninety-Eight convertible headed for the scrap heap

I was talking to my neighbor who has a '69 Ninety-Eight convertible in really rough shape. The top is gone and the car has sat out in the weather a long time. The body is pretty rusted. Somewhere under the hood is a big block, and there may be other salvageable parts. I was wondering whether there's any value to this thing for him or if he should just scrap it. It's located in Lansing, Michigan.

Check with Chris Witt, he may want it. He's in Lansing too.

There may be several little things that others may want. A few things come to mind, turn & tilt levers if they are nice, vacuum power trunk set up, radio, power window & lock switches, under hood & trunk lights, several things on the engine, ie: brackets, carb, intake, maybe other stuff. Definitely don't scrap it without checking for those money parts.

The 1970 front disk parts seem to be worth their weight in gold. Same with the cruise control. Not sure about '69.
Any pictures?

Thanks for these comments. I will talk to the owner about them. I bought some parts from Chris awhile back; that's a good suggestion.

Thanks!

Stainless trim parts, too.

And what about the engine? If it's not seized, it'll be worth something to someone.

Also the trans.
