New sending unit for '72 98 (with 455)

I'm getting close to getting this ol' girl back on the road and one of the final pieces is installing the new trunk floor and gas tank. I had a heckuva time finding a gas tank and ultimately bought one - based on the dimensions - that is technincally for a '67 Chevy Biscayne/Caprice/Impala etc. I coulnd't find one that came anywhere close to the dimensions of what I pulled off the car, which was essentially 35" long x 33" wide x 7" tall. So, all that to say - as I look for a new sending unit, I am not seeing one that looks like what came out of the old tank I removed (see pics). And the one that Summit Racing recommends to go with the tank I bought looks nothing like what came out of my tank (which probably is no surprise). When I look/search for my car, I see nothing that looks like what came out of my tank ... Weird how, in my pics here, there's not "float" arm that I'm used to. Maybe it's inside that rusty ol' cylinder portion of the old sending unit???

If anyone can guide me in the proper direction, that would be great. I was thinking I could go to Autozone and buy a new sending unit that goes to my '72 Olds 98...

Thank you,

Jay

I used FG106A in the tank of my 71 98. It works great after I figured out that the GROUND wire was shorting against the underside of the car when I installed the tank. I'm not sure what the difference is between FG106A & FG105A.
