Smile Where does this decal go?

This air cleaner instruction decal goes atop the air cleaner, doesn't it? Perhaps near the wing nut?

If so, how is it placed -- i.e. facing straight forward as viewed from the front of the car or angled to one side?

It's for a 1970 Ninety-Eight.

Thanks,
John

Is your car a 2 bbl? I have never seen one of those decals before.

I had a '69 88 and two '72 98s. All of them (4 bbl) had an air filter type decal ("Keep your GM car all GM") that was on front side of air cleaner.

On top of the air cleaner was a decal "OLDSMOBILE ROCKET 455"

Look at these decal sites:

That's a decal I've never seen before. Suggest you contact Mark Cornea (Dr. Decal) and ask him what its for. I searched his store and couldn't find anything like it.

According to the Parts Place, this is the application:

Ok, your link came through as just a jpg so I used DC1885T as their part number and it came up as a PCV decal. http://www.thepartsplaceinc.com/ocat...chPart=dc1885T

For 1968-1971, I would assume it fits around the PCV valve in the valve cover. Like I said b4, I have never seen this decal. Maybe someone with a 68-71 want to chime in?

The decal came from Jim Osborn and was listed in the "1970 Oldsmobile" column. Maybe it wasn't meant to be on a Ninety-Eight?

Can't say for sure. What are the measurements? If it was my decal, I'd go to my car, pop the hood and look on the VCs to see if it would fit around the PCV grommet..... It would really help if there was a ruler or scalable object close to your decal to establish sizing.

Tedd,
Can you post a pic showing this. I'd love to see how it looks installed.

I have the same decal I bought for a 1968 Cutlass with a 350cu in engine and the parts place does not know where it goes either. I could not find it in my install book either. Thinking it isnt correct for my car now? Any help is appreciated...Todd

Deffinitly not for a dry paper element. Be a little tricky to oil it and squeeze it dry.

Offer it on a thread to someone here, if it is for an Olds. Only cost a stamp to send.
Did not mean to sound like a smarta**, but sometimes I can't help myself.

Nope it was right on the money and you would have thought the boys at Brothers Automotive would have caught that. I have no idea what model of Oldsmobile would be using that type of filter however?
