Rocker panel mounting clips

Rocker panel mounting clips
I pretty much have been through ALL there is with these cars but there always remained one question unanswered. You now those green clips that seem to have to be snapped into their oblong holes, the ones that the stainless rocker mouldings hang on,you know the ones below the bottom door edge that run from the front of the door to it's rear? yeah them, those loose clips that stay in the hole but not firm against the body because the hole is rusted open and the rocker won't hold close to the body. So what do you do? You buy new clips only to find that when what you try what think is the right way to install them only makes them exactly the way they were before ...loose. This makes think as to why so many Toros have screws holding the top edges (aside from under the door). Here's my question as I have a bag of brand new never used green clips waiting to go on my Toro and reverted to screwing on those 6 in. plates that mimic these clips. You see these clips pop into the hole because the outer edge is (mushroom shaped) and what is left (in) the hole between the actual clip and it's mushroom head is a say 1/16 space which allows for the looseness. Now does anybody know if there is or was a tool that went in this clip that would maybe expand that (mushroom head) and like a rivet gun draw it against the back of the body metal as to clamp it and hold it firm and tight? And if so where could you get this tool. This is a pro looking for a pro for help.I know there's a lot of you out there. Did you or do you have this same problem? How did you solve it. Bud Thanks for any help
