The saga continues

So as i expected the axles wont clear lower cont arm with no weight on it so i had to bust upper ball joints. Kinda glad i did. Did someone weld them in or torch cut tops off for axle clearance? Jus keeps getting better

That control arm is toast. Good luck finding another.

I'm on the other side of the country. But I've got some Toro stuff. What year are you working on? I know I've got a set of 1967 A-arms that are loose. John

True hackers. How people hack stuff together to sell it knowing the crap you are putting out there?? You have no soul.

Hopefully someone here can help.

I've got one that's in decent shape. But I'm in Oregon and the OP is in New York. I'll offer mine at a price I'd want to pay, which I consider on the low range but shipping may be more than the purchase price. If anyone closer has one in good shape go ahead and offer it to him.

Then so all can understand what happened to his, the factory riveted these on the sides of the ball joint and it looks like the bottom as well. Or the top, so it won't interfere with the axles.

thank you for your trouble. John dorsey is sending one. As to cause of failure, mine has replacemnt bolt on ball joints. Also drive axles had been replaced and it appears the top bolt torched off for clearance. Ill have to come up with a fix when i get to that point. Dont know how to secure axle in a lathe to cut it down so we shall see. Thanks again for your offer

Hopefully the replacement ball joint won't have a bolt head that would interfere with the axle. I would be cautious about turning down the axle to clear the ball joint fastener. I suspect there's other members here who've changed out the ball joints and may be able to provide some advice on how best to do it.

I just received a full set of replacement ball joints for my 66' from Fusick. I'll take some pictures of them and post em here. The replacement ball joints show bolts on the install in the CSM so I think you should be just fine.

Straight from the 66' Toro CSM
